What could be more fun than an afternoon of firing pistols alongside your best mates.  If you’ve only seen real guns in the movies then maybe its time to tick that box and try out our Outdoor Rifle Range.  Shooting, which was one of the very first Modern Olympic Sports, is really for Anybody.  You dont have to be super fit or fast.  You just need to be able to pull a trigger. With its vast array of disciplines, encompassing various guns, targets and distances, maybe you should pull the trigger and give shooting a try, you might just like it!

Try your skill and accuracy using a .22 rifle on our eight-lane 25 metre rifle range. An instructor will give you 30 practice rounds then score you out of 10 rounds.

Clay pigeon shooting is a sport that sharpens the senses and tests your reactive powers.   If you have never tried this before – then give it a go now. Experienced instructors at our purpose-built facility will set up different shooting positions.  They use the elusive clay pigeon to simulate different birds. Even if you are not the best shot in the world.  Have fun fine-tuning your shooting skills at our fantastic Shooting Grounds with challenging clays at all speeds and angles!

Like Golf, a shooting session is sure to stoke up the competitive fires. Get out in that fresh air with your shotgun but make sure your hand isn’t shaking too badly from your distillery visit the day before. Keep your eye fixed firmly on the clay as it careers across the skyline before being splintered into a hundred different pieces at the pull of your trigger. Suitable for experienced shooters or absolute beginners, our clay pigeon activity places the emphasis firmly on skill and judgment.

Join Rockstar on a journey through Glenkinchie’s storied landscape and rich heritage, filled with passionate people and a quest to capture the essence of East Lothian through our flavourful field-to-glass whisky process. Our private bus will collect you and take you on a journey to the rolling farmland of East Lothian which is home to ‘The Edinburgh Malt’. Glenkinchoie distillery will let you experience the real taste of Scotland.

Your visit begins in our Old Malting Floors where you will have a chance to see our fantastic exhibition which hosts the renowned model distillery. You will then be met by your guide and you will be led through the production area of the distillery learning how to make our water of life.

Few parts of Scotland can boast of more history than this. In 1745 Prince Charles Edward Stuart reached the peak of his brief power at Prestonpans on the Firth of Forth just north of Glenkinchie, where his Highlanders defeated John Cope’s Hanoverian forces with such certainty that London itself seemed under threat.
The contemporary folk song ‘Johnny Cope’ records Cope’s shocking defeat and his reaction after fleeing back to Dunbar, leaving his men. Distilling (mostly illegal) was taking place here long before the skills of crop rotation were known; in 1777 Edinburgh housed perhaps four hundred illicit distilleries. When the law was changed to permit smaller licensed distilleries, many farmers took out licenses. By the time the distillery was founded in 1837, 115 licensed distilleries were recorded in the Lowlands, though their products would probably not pass muster today!
