Western Gailes is fun to play Scottish links course located in Ayrshire just down the Firth of Clyde coast from The Open Championship venue Royal Troon. The Course has a very linear routing that directly follows the narrow strip of land between the railway and the Firth of Clyde. The first four holes follow the coast straight out North. Golfers then before turn around and head back South with the next nine holes along Irvine Bay. The Remaining holes follow the Train Tracks back to the clubhouse.
Western Gailes is one of Ayrshire’s most acclaimed Hidden Gems and holds its own despite its close proximity to the historic courses of Prestwick, where the first Open Championship was held in 1860, and Royal Troon. The views over the Firth of Forth seduces golfers into loving these narrow links just as much, if not more, than its prestigious neighbors.
