On Day 2 of Scottish Golf Tourism Week Rockstar Golf was at The Glen-East Links at North Berwick.  This is the course where I learned to golf, ‘back in the day’,  and defeated my dad for the very first time thanks to a wonderful 4 iron into the 17th Hole in the pouring Scottish rain.  The Glen is included in all of Rockstar’s East Coast Itineraries.  When you play it for the first time you will know why.

The Glen is a stunning course that is fun to play and has amazing 360 views of the Town, The Bass Rock, and Tantallon Castle.  The course has some amazing holes and huge elevation changes. Wait until you play ‘Sea Hole’ the very shot Par 3 13th.  The green is partially blind and played to a green 50 feet below the tee and just a few feet from the beach.  Personally I have visited that beach many times or taken the ‘walk of shame ‘ as we now call it. It might be a wedge or 4 iron depending upon the temperature and the wind.  This is where I learned to love the unpredictability and fun of links golf. The course is NEVER the same.

My other fond memory was as a youth was trying to drive the well-protected par 4 18th hole.  I came so close so many times but never managed to get the ball on the green.

The Glen lived under the shadow of North Berwick, Gullane, Muirfield, and now The Renaissance Club for far too long.  Located on the East Coast of Scotland in North Berwick this is the ultimate location for a Golf Trip.  Great golf with the World Class North Berwick West Links just a stone’s throw away, amazing Fish and Chips, Welcoming Bars, restuarants, unique shops and The Marine hotel which is the perfect accommodations overlooking the North Berwick Golf Club and a short walk to town.
